UNLIKE SOME DESIGNERS, MY CHILDHOOD CREATIVE STREAK DIDN'T EXPRESS ITSELF VISUALLY.
If we're being honest, my natural drawing skills were lackluster at best. I love illustration and visual design, so I invested years of hard work and concentrated effort to improve my skillset. But before then, writing was what I did best.
I leaned hard into that skill. I wrote until my hands ached and huge calluses formed on my fingers. My computers became filled with sizable stories (you can imagine my excitement when cloud storage became commonplace). Writing was how I exhausted my creative energyI was a storyteller through and through.
Although design is a very different form of storytelling, it resonates with people in similar ways. I constantly refer back to my writing skills when I illustrate, explain my design solutions, and especially to help me understand an audience's perspective. Over time, I've found that design and storytelling aren't very different.
My visual aesthetic varies depending on the project but, when I'm given creative freedom, my work tends to reflect my personality: upbeat and excited with a touch of humor.
Thank you for looking through my work, and don't hesitate to reach out to me if you ever want to connect!
